The practice problem identified in large healthcare organizations is the nursing staffing shortage. The practice issue explored in the community health clinic is nurse burnout due to high patient load and that of the long-term care facility is a limited infection control. Nursing shortage in large healthcare organizations originates from a set of factors, a rising healthcare services demand, high turnover rates among nurses because of exhaustion or dissatisfaction, and an insufficient pool of skilled nursing candidates. The consequences of nursing shortage may be seen on the patient care level, the morale of staff, as well as on the level of organizational effectiveness (Tamata & Mohammadnezhad, 2022). Thus, developing and implementing an EBP quality improvement project would be useful in addressing this practice issue. The project would help the organization to provide sufficient staffing levels, improve patient outcomes, and maintain a good working environment in which quality care delivery is possible. 7 The problem that is the priority in the long-term care facility is limited infection control measures. With the fragile nature of the resident population including geriatric patients and those with underlying infections, infection control is fundamental to their health and well-being. One of the reasons for limited infection control in the long-term care facility is staffing shortage and limited resources. Srigley et al. (2023) mentioned that the nursing staffing shortage is associated with poor infection control in long-term care facilities. Thus, it is essential to develop an EB quality improvement project to help address this issue. By striving for infection control, the long-term care facility would make the environment safer for residents, lower healthcare-associated infections, and prevent outbreaks
